The truth is:
✅ Resting it doesn’t change anything. You might get a small temporary relief, but then when you get active again you’ll still be suffering from ankle or foot pain as if nothing changed (because it hasn’t and I bet you’ve already experienced it!)
✅ It’s NOT normal to get ankle or foot pain as you get older! (otherwise everyone would have pain!)
✅ Pain pills are addicting, dangerous, and can cause a lot of other problems with your body. Even over the counter anti inflammatories can be harmful long term to our organ systems.
✅ Surgery or the new fangled less invasive surgical treatment is not the only option. It’s just the only option your surgeon can offer you, despite months of frustrations and you feel like your doctor doesn’t “hear” you.

It can be very confusing to decide exactly what you should do if you have ankle or foot pain. You’ve likely heard a lot of options such as…
❓ A family member tells you to find a different exercise activity that isn’t as stressful.
❓ A colleague mentions going to acupuncture.
❓ The “experts” on YouTube recommend doing a half dozen generic exercises and home remedies without really knowing your individual needs.
❓ A friend suggests going to their personal trainer because they are really knowledgeable (truth be told, they might be knowledgeable, but they are not experts on the body when something goes wrong).
❓ All while the doctor tells you to rest, take medications, and hands you a sheet of generic exercises no better than the exercises and home remedies you got from the “experts” on YouTube.
It’s overwhelming to try to make a decision with all these choices…what will happen if you don’t make the right one?
Most people get stuck trying to make a decision about what to do next. They go days, weeks, months (even years!) without taking action. This isn’t an uncommon story I hear. They think “maybe it will go away”, or that they don’t have time to deal with their ankle or foot pain, it’s not THAT bad. Then they get to a point where it’s screaming at them months later after they have compensated and suffered to MAYBE do something about it.
